Mathematician Daniel Litt: next few years may see more math text than the past 1000 years
littmath · x · 2026-09-30
Daniel Litt (littmath), a prominent mathematician and DeepMind researcher, argues that "what should be published" is not a radical enough question — the next few years will likely see more mathematical text produced than the previous 1000 years combined. In a follow-up, he adds that human exposition retains real value until models write better, but once they do, human writing will mainly serve to think through things oneself.
