- OpenAI's latest model GPT-6.1 Sol is now generally available in GitHub Copilot for agentic coding and terminal workflows.
- GitHub says early testing shows it reliably completes tasks using noticeably fewer tokens and steps than earlier models in the GPT-6 and GPT-5.6 families.
- Available to Copilot Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise users across VS Code, Visual Studio, Copilot CLI, the coding agent, GitHub Mobile, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode, and Eclipse; rollout is gradual.
- Billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing; admins control access via model policy, enabled by default.
