OpenAI launched GPT-6.1 Sol at DevDay, claiming it nearly matches Astra's intelligence for coding, computer use, and professional work at just 20% of Astra's token price. A Polymarket market had given GPTA-6.1 Astra only a 27% chance of release by end of October, and OpenAI indeed opted for the cheaper Sol.
