Per Bloomberg, Apple's John Ternus has begun cutting engineering program managers, including roughly 6 directors, aiming to flatten layers between engineers and top executives. He also wants year-round launches instead of Apple's traditional fall/spring batches. Money pressure comes from two directions: a memory shortage raising component costs, and services revenue falling quarter-over-quarter in June for the first time since 2022.
