Flatiron School co-founder: AI ends human-first coding, rethink every best practice

Avi Flombaum, co-founder of Flatiron School who taught thousands to code, launches a 10-essay series arguing that nearly every programming best practice he taught — code for humans, DRY, unit tests, avoid big rewrites, keep the monolith — was an optimization for human programmers, and the human is no longer writing the code. Echoing Dijkstra, he argues the tool has changed, so developers must rethink every assumption, preference and workflow to fully leverage AI. "The old way is dead. Kill nostalgia."
