Side-by-side test: incident agent with historical memory nails the fix, stateless LLM just guesses

The authors open-sourced an Incident Memory Agent and ran a live side-by-side investigation of the same database outage (Payment-API HikariPool timeout):
- Stateless LLM: produced a generic connection-pool-timeout summary and a list of possibilities (DB down, network latency, slow queries), forcing manual triage from scratch.
- With memory (Vectorize Hindsight): retrieved the prior postmortem with a 0.99 reranker score and immediately surfaced the verified fix — raising HikariCP maxPoolSize from 20 to 75 in Helm values — plus the warning that restarting pods had failed before because connections re-saturated within 90 seconds.
The key insight: storing failed approaches matters as much as storing fixes. Runs on Groq, code on GitHub.
