Free Systems research: shared message boards give AI agent swarms 'shared delusions'
soumitrashukla9 · x · 2026-09-29
New research from Free Systems Lab shows AI agents can reinforce each other's false beliefs. In HuggingFace-like swarm simulations, agents posting signals to a shared message board rapidly abandoned private information and herded onto bad signals, producing a shared delusion—while non-communicating agents avoided it but lost information aggregation. The authors propose governance structures to correct these cascades.
