Researcher builds Fieldwork with Claude: a CSV-backed checklist app for AI agents

Computational biologist Sasha Gusev used Claude to build Fieldwork, an open-source tool for tracking exploratory tasks that spiral out of control in agentic projects. It's a native macOS SwiftUI checklist app plus a standalone agent CLI sharing one validation/persistence engine; CSVs are the authoritative record. Point an agent at the workspace and it populates tasks as it works, guided by an AGENTFILEGUIDE.md bundled with every workspace. No third-party dependencies, builds locally.
