Sasha Gusev had Claude build him Fieldwork, a native macOS app (now open source) for tracking exploratory tasks on agentic projects, which quickly get out of control inside a session. You point an agent at the workspace/prompt and it populates tasks as it goes, with everything recorded as Markdown/CSV files.
Details: SwiftUI minimalist checklist UI with CSV files as the authoritative research record; the app and agent CLI share the same validation, persistence and workflow engine; no third-party runtime dependencies or network services. Every new workspace (created via the app or fieldwork init) includes a copy of AGENTFILEGUIDE.md so a pointed agent knows how to append to it. Requires macOS 14+.
