Why AI writing gets shamed while AI coding doesn't

The author argues the stigma around AI writing is unfair: LLMs are already ubiquitous in coding, math, and science, yet get shamed mainly in the trivial task of writing. Two causes: mode collapse/RLHF makes AI prose feel like slop, and detectability gives people an easy target for shaming. Their bet: models will improve until AI writing is indistinguishable from human writing.
