The model and interface gaps holding back enterprise agents

philhchen reviews the year's rush to build "OpenClaw for normies/enterprise": consumer-facing agents (Muse, Instinct, Grok Bot) show signs of life, but enterprise agents haven't landed with buyers. He identifies gaps on both sides: models crossed the personal-assistant threshold but not the enterprise-value bar (offloading menial tasks isn't worth token spend at scale, and proactivity is harder with more context and existing processes); and MCP-based connectors are the only scalable/secure interface paradigm but demand more human coordination than most companies can manage. Meanwhile the highest-value use cases are already covered by Claude Code, Codex, and vertical solutions. He notes his team's internal agent has solved some of these problems, with benchmarks to come.
