World Labs has signed a definitive agreement to join AMD. Fei-Fei Li becomes AMD's EVP and Chief Scientist, reporting to CEO Lisa Su, while Justin Johnson and Ben Mildenhall continue co-leading the team. Building on a year-long partnership training and optimizing models on AMD GPUs, the combined group aims to build an end-to-end open AI ecosystem spanning hardware, software, platforms, and openly accessible models. The deal is expected to close by end of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
