Every Google Trends query points to Cheyenne, Wyoming — a 67K-population town

SEO expert Lily Ray found that a dozen unrelated search terms all showed Wyoming — the least populated US state — as the #1 region on Google Trends over the past 12 months. Drilling down, nearly all of it comes from Cheyenne, a town of 67K people.
She notes that even if Google Trends normalizes by regional search volume rather than population, it wouldn't explain why Cheyenne tops so many unrelated queries simultaneously — a likely systematic data anomaly that search marketers and data analysts should watch for.
