StewartalsopIII · x · 2026-09-29
Sam Altman said on X that in the matrix of short/long timelines and slow/fast takeoff, he continues to believe short timelines with slow takeoff is the safest quadrant.
The comment came in a repost where he suggested someone might someday deserve the Nobel Peace Prize for a geopolitical development, then pivoted to his AI view: AGI may arrive soon, but the capability ramp-up would be relatively gradual — a path he sees as safest for societal adaptation.
