Clay adopts company-wide AI Writing Policy built on four principles

Clay has rolled out an official AI Writing Policy, drafted by engineer Sophie Higgs and expanded from engineering to the whole company. Its four guiding principles:
- You must stand behind every idea and sentence — ensure any document you share fully represents your own thinking.
- Writing is thinking — circumventing the writing process leaves you with a poorer understanding of the subject.
- More time should be spent writing than consuming — generating long output from a short prompt and making readers wade through it disrespects their time; they can talk to ChatGPT themselves.
