Lumen Launches On-Demand Dedicated Internet Up to 100 Gbps at 10M US Sites

Lumen launched Intelligent Internet on September 21: enterprises with existing Lumen connections can scale dedicated bandwidth up or down via the Lumen Connect portal or API, reaching 100 Gbps while keeping a monthly term. The service covers over 10 million US business locations and bundles DDoS Essentials and Lumen Defender.
The driver is AI workloads making bandwidth peaks unpredictable: IDC research cited shows 37% of enterprises saw bandwidth needs grow over 50% in a year, and 29% couldn't align networks with AI work. CTO Jim Fowler says enterprise internet should scale like compute and storage. Early customers include the Yankees, iVision, SABIS, and Skyway.
