NVIDIA launches Open Agent Safety Platform for controlling what AI agents can do
nvidia · x · 2026-09-28
NVIDIA has launched the Open Agent Safety Platform to help teams control what AI agents can access and do.
- OpenShell enforces permissions around the agent's work, defining which data and systems it can use;
- BlueField-4 and DOCA add independent monitoring and security controls at the infrastructure layer, outside the agent's reach;
- Vera CPUs power the agents themselves.
NVIDIA's argument: agents that write code, call tools, and run for hours or days need explicit permissions, oversight, and protection—pushing agent safety down from the prompt layer into the system and infrastructure layers.
