A Reddit developer shares that as the sole developer at two companies (current one serves 300k+ users), no human has reviewed his code in 5 years of backend, frontend, deploys and databases.
Now an agent writes most of the code and CodeRabbit reviews PRs before merge — the closest thing to a second pair of eyes he's had. He notes it catches real issues but isn't a person who understands why the business works, and asks whether solo-dev-plus-AI-review is acceptable against the consensus that self-merging PRs is insanity.
