Vercel CEO ports Mini browser to Rust & Swift, ditches Electron and embeds an AI agent

Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch ported his Mini web browser from Electron + Bun to native Rust & Swift, bundling up-to-date Chromium via the cef crate. The result boots faster, is more secure, supports Liquid Glass, and makes fine-grained focus/input control — a nightmare in JS — trivial.
Architecturally notable: he embeds an AI agent without bloating the app via fx acp (ACP protocol) talking to a local fx CLI, which then manages the browser through an MCP server. He argues native is the future on desktop and cloud, predicting the software world will "nativify" faster than expected — a shift DHH hinted at Rails World — with Vercel's Fluid betting on Rust, Go, Zig and beyond.
