Same Prompt, 4x Difference: Claude Builds Three.js Output in 2 Hours vs 8 for Unreal
nptacek · x · 2026-09-28
Japanese creator @OjosamaAtelier gave Claude (Opus 5.5 at xhigh) the same instruction to produce outputs for both Unreal Engine and Three.js, then compared the results.
Both completed the task, but the time cost differed sharply: the Unreal Engine version took about 8 hours, while Three.js took roughly 2. The takeaway: for AI-assisted creation, web tech stacks like Three.js have a much cheaper generate-debug loop than traditional game engines — a factor worth weighing when choosing a stack.
