User finds Claude can generate printable STL files, skipping CAD in five minutes
Griffstergnu · reddit · 2026-09-28
A Reddit user discovered that Claude (Opus 5.5) can directly generate STL files ready for 3D printing, and remix existing STLs with ease—no CAD modeling required.
According to the post, this wasn't possible a few months ago, when the user had to buy a Meshy account instead. Now a single inference session with about five minutes of prompting gets them from idea straight to printing.
