Casita launches as Rust content-addressed store to rethink Nix for agentic coding

Domen Kožar (Nix ecosystem) introduces Casita, a content-addressed object store for source code and build artifacts, written in Rust as the first standalone layer of a planned Nix rewrite. It offers shared storage, verification, sync, and garbage collection as a library and CLI (pre-release, Linux/macOS/Windows). The pitch: agentic development floods disks with target/ dirs and build artifacts within hours, recreating Nix's /nix/store GC problem at scale.
