Search is shifting from query to condition, argues Jono Alderson

Technical SEO consultant Jono Alderson argues search is shifting from "find this" to "tell me when" — from query to standing condition. Users could leave full requirement briefs that agents keep evaluating after the browser closes; a hotel could win a booking weeks later when availability finally matches. Intent persists after the user leaves, and businesses enter and exit consideration without a new query. This breaks the query-based competition and attribution model of traditional SEO.
