Databricks targets 100x cheaper warehouse AI functions for all DB vendors

Responding to when warehouse AI functions become cheap enough to use at scale, a Databricks researcher says the goal is not only to cut costs by 100x but to make it easy for any database vendor to run AI functions natively — potentially making LLM calls inside SQL a routine tool.
