A developer officially switched from RunKeeper to Strava after 15+ years, citing the lack of an API and MCP as the deciding factor. Others echoed the pattern—one reports replacing at least four services in the past week for the same reason (most recently moving from IBKR to Schwab's API). A sign that MCP is becoming a de facto criterion for tool and service selection.
