Google engineer resigns from GDM chip team, citing belief that AI is progressing too fast

A Google engineer (rocallahan) announced his resignation today. He says he enjoyed the work and loved the people, but his GDM team was building a new generation of chips to make AI much faster and cheaper — and he believes AI is already progressing too fast, so he had to quit.
The resignation post is being amplified by others calling it lucid and persuasive.
