Geodesic Intelligence unveiled NovaDDE, an AI workbench for protein binder design that unifies three components behind one interface:
- Conversational agent: the primary surface — an LLM-powered assistant fluent in binder-design vocabulary that turns plain-language goals into concrete design jobs, choosing which generative model to invoke and what constraints to apply.
- Expert-grade design studio for refining candidates.
- A purpose-built folding/structure-prediction model designed specifically for binders.
The team frames drug discovery as a search problem: the traditional pipeline (target/epitope selection, candidate generation, structural evaluation, wet-lab validation) is fragmented across tools and disciplines, with each handoff stretching feedback loops from weeks to months or years. NovaDDE aims to automate and shorten that loop, letting a scientist go from "I want a binder against this target" to a ranked candidate set without leaving the conversation.
They also published a pilot design run walkthrough — the agent analyzes the problem, helps pick an epitope and design approach, submits the job, and guides computational evaluation of candidates — plus an API platform and a preview of future directions.
