Databricks launches Unity Gateway CLI to centrally manage models across coding agents

Databricks notes a new model ships roughly every five days, so the best coding model today may not stay best or most cost-effective. Its new Unity Gateway CLI lets developers keep working in Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and other coding agents while admins centrally manage models, tools, policies and budgets.
- Set default models, MCP servers, skills, Smart Routing and spending policies centrally
- Launch approved coding agents with one command, auto-applying organization settings
- Track spend and capture traces across supported coding agents
When a better model emerges, teams update the config once and the CLI rolls it out across all supported agents.
