Electric Team Officially Building Realtime Sync for Neon's Postgres Backend

Neon announced that realtime is coming next to its backend platform, built by the Electric team that recently joined Neon at Databricks. In an interview, Electric co-founder James Arthur explained the rationale: the market for specialist infra tools has squeezed, agents want higher-level abstractions, and sync is a backend primitive that should share semantics with your tooling rather than be a standalone product. He also cited Databricks' strong engineering culture as a pleasant surprise. Making sync great across many database query use cases while scaling is notoriously hard — exactly the Electric team's specialty.
