Automation platform Workato has launched Otto, an AI teammate designed to complete whole projects rather than answer prompts, available now with a free tier.
- Cross-app execution: Built on Workato's Enterprise MCP, Otto connects to 1,400+ work and life apps and can be driven from Slack, the web app, or even SMS
- Project-level delegation: Users assign projects, not prompts — Otto figures out the steps, hops between apps, loops in the right people, and follows through until done ("hand it a goal at 5pm, wake up to it finished")
- Teach once: Playbooks, checklists, or approved wording are followed automatically once added
- Multiplayer: Coworkers' Ottos can team up, with answers arriving before anyone asks twice
- Enterprise: All traffic flows securely through Enterprise MCP, with deep Slack integration, governance, and observability
Example use cases include setting an out-of-office message, planning a podcast end-to-end, generating landing-page assets, and summarizing 47 unread Slack messages from your boss.
