Widely shared research finds that just 10 minutes of TikTok was enough to impair people's ability to remember and carry out intentions, while Twitter and YouTube showed no similar decline.
Researchers suggest rapid context-switching may account for most of the cognitive cost. Cited related work also links short-form video to lower memory accuracy and reduced brain synchrony.
