Protester's Day 1 Outside the UN Draws 50+ Photos, Press Interviews on AI Risk

Matthew Tromp spent Day 1 of his one-man sign protest outside the UN and reports it "worked extremely well": roughly 50 people with UN or press badges took photos with or of him, he gave an interview and contact info to two journalists, and met NY assemblymember Alex Bores heading into an AI meeting. He says reactions were almost universally sympathetic — "people are worried."
The stunt's apparent ease of generating press attention is itself a data point on how mainstream AI anxieties have become.
