Nature paper: psilocybin reshapes latent temporal structure in brain activity

The authors' recent Nature paper "Temporal structure tunes the psychedelic experience" was featured in the Research Highlight section of Nature Reviews Neuroscience. While the entropic reorganization of functional brain networks under psilocybin occurs acutely, how brain activity during the psychedelic state relates to subjective experience and lasting psychological change remained unresolved. Stoliker et al. show that psilocybin-induced brain activity contains latent temporal structure that improves alignment with environmental context and covaries with the subjective quality of the experience.
