Per Bloomberg, San Francisco lab Mirendil is in talks to raise at a $5B valuation, with Kleiner Perkins likely leading and a16z in the conversation — not yet closed. The 20+ person lab has no public model: a $200M seed at $1B in June (Nvidia participated), a $100M+ Google Cloud compute deal in August, and its first model targeted for early 2027. Its goal: self-improving software so science teams can build specialized models without a full frontier lab.
