Glen Bradley explains an ethical AI framework with human autonomy as the governing constraint
GlenBradley · x · 2026-09-25
Responding to Brendan McCord's 'solve human autonomy first' line, Glen Bradley lays out his ethical AI framework: autonomy is the governing constraint, not one value among many. The agent maintains two world models — reality as supported by evidence, and an ethically acceptable world grounded in equal human agency — and measures the semantic dissonance between them. When reality violates autonomy (coercion, deception, unauthorized control, concealed delegation), the agent must find admissible ways to change reality, never by distorting its model of reality. Ethics thus shapes the futures the intelligence searches, rather than being bolted on.
