Google Cloud Unveils AlloyDB's Agentic Database Architecture for AI Workloads
rseroter · x · 2026-09-25
Google Cloud detailed a new AlloyDB architecture designed for the agentic era, addressing how multi-agent swarms issuing bursty queries can overwhelm production databases.
The post reviews how Exadata, Azure SQL Hyperscale, and Aurora each scaled OLTP by trading off scale, latency, or isolation. Agentic workloads are dynamic and can't be vetted in advance, requiring isolation from mission-critical systems plus full-engine low latency and elastic scale. AlloyDB's architecture claims to deliver all three without compromise.
