Anthropic: AI agents now do 26% of its internal research, up from under 1%

Anthropic published new transparency metrics tracking how much AI is used to build AI. Key numbers: AI agents now handle 26% of internal research (under 1% six months ago), 30,000 autonomous agents run concurrently, over a billion decisions reviewed last month, and only 50 weekly transcripts escalated to humans. Anthropic says the data shows how close the world is to recursive self-improvement and urges all frontier labs to publish comparable measures.
