Three years of agentic coding: 'I work in a different language to my peers'

Kojo Lick, who has practiced agentic coding since mid-2023, says the biggest side effect is collaboration friction: she feels she works in a different language than her peers, with 99% of collaboration reduced to semantics — aligning on intent, terminology and conventions of AI-generated code rather than the technology itself. The observation resonates with heavy agent users whose workflows diverge from traditional engineers.
