One-prompt Minecraft: AI-generated voxel game open-sourced, runs in browser and on Windows
gdechichi · x · 2026-09-25
Kaigen Technologies open-sourced WebCraft, a Minecraft-style voxel sandbox written entirely by AI using the Kaigen Engine, a high-performance cross-platform 3D engine written in C.
- The first version came from a single prompt: /goal Create a playable version of Minecraft that runs in my browser and on Windows. Use gpu.h directly. Add advanced shaders that make it look as real and beautiful as possible.
- Features endless seeded world streaming, block building, day/night cycle, physically based sky, volumetric clouds, weather and water
- The same C source runs natively on Windows (Direct3D 12) and in the browser (WebAssembly + WebGPU)
- Caveat: the source requires the Kaigen Engine, currently in closed beta
