Developer banteg is working on a project that would lead to roughly 150 pull requests across all Ethereum clients, with the main goal of not enraging maintainers. If all client teams respond well, it would produce a harmonized trace API that behaves identically in any client, including geth.
He also reveals he just subscribed to Claude to see for himself whether "Opus 5.5 is their best release since sliced bread" — making the project a real-world test of the model's engineering chops.
