Near-daily AI use among US adults more than doubled in six months, Epoch AI polling finds

Two Epoch AI/Ipsos surveys (March 2026, n=2,017; August 2026, n=1,016) show US adults shifting rapidly from occasional to near-daily AI use:

The share using AI at least 6 days a week more than doubled from 8% in March to 19% in August;
One-day-a-week use fell from 17% to 10%;
2-5 day use edged up from 24.3% to 27.3%;
Any AI use rose from 50% to 56.4%, while non-use dropped from 50% to 43.6%.

Takeaway: heavy high-frequency users are expanding fast while light users shrink — AI is becoming a daily habit, not a novelty.
