World Bank launches WDR 2026 on AI at Stanford, led by Susan Athey

The World Bank's World Development Report 2026, "The Promise of Artificial Intelligence," launches at Stanford GSB with an all-day event. Susan Athey served as co-academic lead, working with the World Bank research team on original research synthesizing how AI could affect low- and middle-income economies — against a backdrop of development progress at its weakest pace in 75 years. Speakers include Andrew Ng, Ufuk Akcigit, Gaurav Nayyar and Indermit Gill, with a livestream available.
