Jensen Huang: if AI labs can't contain their models, 'we have to shut the labs down'
AlexTensor · x · 2026-09-24
On the Ezra Klein Show, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang pushed back on AI doomerism but offered a blunt corollary: if labs like OpenAI or Anthropic really can't contain their models, 'we have to shut the labs down' — don't ship what you can't align. Using a robotaxi analogy, he argued that problems like Dario Amodei's warning of agent swarms threatening the internet must be solved before release. His comments came as heads of major AI firms warned the UN that without intervention, 'AI could be a risk to humanity as a whole.'
