Ant Group restructures Alipay around AI agents, CEO sees 'explosive' agentic commerce growth

Ant Group has merged its Digital Payment, Alipay and Zhima Credit business groups into a new Alipay unit led by veteran Wu Minzhi, per an internal letter from CEO Cyril Han Xinyi. Han said agentic commerce is entering a phase of "explosive, large-scale growth," with the restructuring aimed at consolidating tech, product and ecosystem capabilities to drive AI-focused growth.
