Ex-Meta engineer Christoph Nakazawa argues that the answer to both 'do frameworks still matter?' and 'does my work still matter?' is attention: agents can vibe-code anything, but prompting and verifying still costs your finite attention, which doesn't scale to large codebases. Mature frameworks amortize other people's attention. Meanwhile AI makes forks and rewrites trivially easy — the true promise of open source.
