alphaXiv's open-source OpenResearch now supports PubMed, searching 40M+ biomedical papers with figures and inline citations, turning Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other coding agents into research agents. The project has 5.6k GitHub stars, one-line install, and local model support via LM Studio/Ollama.
