NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, speaking in a video clip, said that if labs admit "their models aren't safe... then I think the answer is that we have to shut the labs down."
The remark frames safety as an existential criterion: models must either be safe or shouldn't exist at all. Coming from the head of the biggest beneficiary of the AI compute boom, it's a notable stance in the AI safety debate.
