Researcher: AI's autonomous bioinformatics work still short of real discovery

Dvir argues the gap between framing and demonstrated capability is underwhelming: the AI's autonomous work is what a trained bioinformatics PhD student would produce given the same instructions. Autonomy is valuable, he says, but it doesn't show AI can yet make discoveries humans couldn't.
