Office Commun released Search 1.0, a free open-source Mac browser built on the WebKit engine already in macOS (Apple Silicon, macOS 14+). Compared side-by-side on the same machine: 2.9MB on disk vs Chrome's 1,429MB, 320ms cold start vs Chrome's 526ms, and 51MB RAM at launch vs Chrome's 663MB, with 11 processes for five tabs vs Chrome's 29. It supports Chrome extensions, blocks ads at the network layer, lets you hide any page element, and collects nothing with no account required.
