Cybersecurity Experts Push Back on AI Doomers: Doomer Scenarios Rely on AI Hacking
ccerrato147 · x · 2026-09-23
Robert Graham argues that cybersecurity professionals are upset with AI doomers because nearly every doomer scenario assumes rampant AI-powered hacking—the very domain security experts know best. He contends doomers want to discard 40 years of cybersecurity principles, and if AI doom ever happens it will be because doomers wrecked cybersecurity itself.
The quoted post goes further, accusing self-styled "AI Safety Experts" of spreading panic narratives like "we will all die unless we regulate AI", claiming labs like Anthropic and OpenAI enable them to polish their pre-IPO image, secure government contracts and regulation, and block competition.
